In 2023, SmartMist was involved in a unique project in Clerkenwell, London, focusing on converting a row of four houses into student Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). This ambitious project aimed to equip these newly converted HMOs with advanced fire safety systems, showcasing our expertise in adapting safety solutions to complex residential layouts.
The challenge lay in designing and installing fire safety systems suitable for a series of houses converted into HMOs. The project demanded a tailored approach to meet the specific safety needs of each individual house, while ensuring overall compliance with HMO fire safety regulations.
SmartMist developed customised fire suppression systems for each of the four houses, considering their unique layouts and the specific needs of student accommodations. Our solution focused on maximising safety without compromising the living space, using cutting-edge technology for reliability and ease of maintenance.
The feedback from the project developers and future HMO managers was overwhelmingly positive. They appreciated the high level of professionalism and expertise demonstrated by SmartMist, as well as the enhanced safety features now integral to these student HMOs.
